The ambition with the SANDBOX yoga is not to foster new "yogis", but to give people a real opportunity to stretch out and strengthen their bodies, calm the mind and learn how to use breathing exercises to regulate the nervous system.
The yoga at SANDBOX is focused on function over form meaning: making it more approachable to “muggles” - people who have never been on a yoga mat before. Our yoga is a blend of hatha* and vinyasa**, but with an emphasis on the functional dimension. Much because of our background in dance (being aware of the body and biomechanics is crucial). We also believe in the power of music and what it can do to the yoga experience and our nervous system. We therefore try to be very thoughtful in how we curate our playlists.
Our goal is a healthier life outside the studio, such as more unhindered play with your kids on the floor without an aching body, better and deeper sleep or greater awareness of breathing in everyday life.
*hatha = static positions, holding the pose still for longer
**vinyasa = guiding the breath together with the movement. More on-going movement also called "flow".
WE OFFER

We occasionally take on private groups as a way to dive deeper, customizing individuals' needs and goals.
2) PRIVATE GROUPS (3-8 people)
3) PT YOGA (1 to 2 people)
